Lora Kurusa is a Hungarian classical guitarist based in Auckland, New Zealand, known for her expressive artistry, musical sensitivity, and polished technique. Her talent was quickly recognised, receiving her first scholarship at the age of 15, where she studied at the Elder Conservatorium’s Open Music Academy (Adelaide, Australia). She later graduated with her Bachelor of Music in Classical Guitar Performance at the University of Auckland, and is now a sponsored artist of renowned Italian- Australian based classical guitar luthier, Domenic Roscioli.
Lora has been awarded multiple project-based scholarships to participate in prestigious guitar festivals across New Zealand and Australia, and in 2020, she won first prize in the Youth Section of the Biennial New Zealand International Classical Guitar Competition.
In addition to her career as a performer, Lora is a passionate and committed classical guitar teacher dedicated to nurturing the musical growth of her students. She employs diverse and engaging teaching methods, creating enjoyable lessons that encourage self-expression through music and performance.
